How long is a bathroom remodel?

Two to four weeks on site for most full remodels, but ask for the timeline including material lead times. If it's your only bathroom, that gap is the whole story.

Is tile waterproof?

No. Tile is the wear surface. Grout is porous. The waterproofing membrane behind the tile is what actually keeps water out of your framing.

Should I convert the tub to a shower?

If nobody has taken a bath in years, the tub is floor space. It's the most common remodel there is — just price the drain relocation properly.

Does a bathroom remodel add value?

A sensible mid-range remodel returns well. Over-improving past your neighborhood mostly returns enjoyment rather than money. Both are fine reasons — know which you're buying.
